READ: Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Today is the final day of our 7 Days #BacktoSchool2016 Devo. What better way to end than in a mindset of worship. We wrapped up our series #BlessUp on worship a couple of weeks ago, and it was a challenging and encouraging month.

As followers of God, we have to remember that God is BIGGER. God is GREATER. God is SMARTER. He is more POWERFUL than us. All of these are things we see in the Bible. We see that God is capable of doing the "immeasurable" and that, as we read above, His thoughts are higher than ours.

If you're in marching band or have ever been a part of a team sport - or really anything that involves teamwork - you know that you only play a small part. I played in band for 3.5 years. The first 3 years, I played trumpet and the last I played tuba. You focus on your small part, but it's ultimately the conductor, drum major, coach, press box, or whoever that sees the big picture. We're focused on the part we play and giving it our best. God sees it all and orchestrates His master plan.

As we keep trekking on through this school year, remember that. Remember that while what you're doing in school seems boring or like it doesn't matter, there is a greater purpose in place. Yes - there are some parts of math you will use one day ;)

God's plan is bigger than our plan. One of my favorite quotes that Pastor Stokes often shares comes from a guy named William Carey: "Our future is as bright as the promises of God."

• What is something in your life that you can see God working in?

• How can you let God use you this school year?

• Can you see God's plan at work in your life? Take some time to REALLY think about this and reflect.
